Discovering Chianti
The Chianti region is a beautiful area between Siena and Florence. It is famous for its win and winery and there are many town where you can go wine tasting as well as tasting all the typical products of the region, admire the medieval towns and go shopping.
I recommend to visit Castellina in Chianti of Etruscan origin, with its beautiful vineyard. You can go wine tasting or visit the Archaeological museum, having a unique view of the countryside by taking a hot air balloon trip and many others activity. Here is a website where you can choose your favorite activity.
Greve in Chianti a small town in the province of Florence, famous for its wine, you can visit the Wine Museum and the Verrazzano Castle surrounded by Chianti's hills.
Barberino Val d'Elsa, a beautiful medieval village with the Church of San Bartolomeo and other many churches.
I suggest to spend a week or more in this region, and visit the villages and admiring the breathtaking view of the hills and vineyards. You can reach these towns by car or taking a bus from the Florence or Poggibonsi train station. To move inside the Chianti region only buses are available or, if you have it, you can move by car.
