What to see in Castelfiorentino and Certaldo

Today we will visit Castelfiorentino and Certaldo, two medieval towns in the heart of Tuscany, near near Florence and Siena. What to see and what to do in Castelfiorentino and Certaldo? Let's start!


In Castelfiorentino there is the Benozzo Gozzoli museum, dedicated to the artists whose works can be found, besides the museum, in Certaldo, Castelfiorentino and San Gimignano but also Rome, Orvieto and in other parts of Italy and the world.
Not far from the center there is the Castello di Oliveto, a 15th century fortress where now you can have wine and oil tasting. You can also organize weddings or go to holiday in their Agriturismo. Visit the official page of Castello di Oliveto for further information.

Certaldo is the town where the famous poet Boccaccio lived and died in and you can visit his house which is now a museum. There actually is a museum circuit including Boccaccio's house, Palazzo Pretorio and the Sacred Art Museum. For more niformation visit the official page of Casa Boccaccio.
The Palazzo Pretorio is the most important building of Certaldo and it's peculiar due to the coats of arm on its façade, one for every Vicar who lived there. The Sacred Art museum with 7 halls.
