What to see in Capri

View of Capri

One of the must see places in Italy is Capri for sure. It is a very famous island and tourist destination. But what there is to see in Capri? Here's a little itinerary to see everything this isle can offer. Let's start!

First of all: how to reach Capri? You can reach it by ferry from Naples or Sorrento. Cars and motorcycles of non resident are permitted only from November to Easter but the public transportation is very good so you will not need them.
Marina Piccola, Capri
Once arrived in Capri you could go to Marina Piccola, a little beach from where you can admire the Faraglioni rocks. It is also an area full of restaurants specialized in seafood. From here you can go visit the rocks where it is believed Ulysses was tempted by the Sirens, the Faraglioni. These are 3 rocks in the southern part of the island and are the symbol of Capri.

Giardini di Augusto, Capri
Then you can visit the Giardini di Augusto (Augustus' Gardens), a botanical garden with many species of plants and from where you can admire a 180 degrees view of the island. For more information visit the official site of Capri.
Then visit the famous "Piazzetta" (little square), the heart of the island. It was once the place where the market took place and it is now full of bars. Then take the Passeggiata del Pizzolungo, a path from which you can enjoy a wonderful view and soak the atmosphere of the island.

Blue Grotto, Capri
Reach then the harbor to go visit the Grotta Azzurra (Blue Grotto), a seacave in front of Capri. It is called Blue Grotto due to the light coming from the outside that, passing through the water, gives a blue reflection inside the grotto. This cave was known by the Romans and it is told that Emperor Tiberius built a tunnel from his villa to the grotto but is now destroyed.
I hope you find this post useful!
